As a survivor of domestic violence homicide I have lived through hardship, self doubt and insecurity. I have also learned to work hard to heal, thrive and now love my life. By enrolling in and completeing the women’s leadership program you have made a choice to grow. Not allowing the past to define you. Putting yourself first and taking this opportunity to explore your options, your strengths and most of all dedicating the time for you. You have worked through fears, self doubt and challenges with the help of your peers and mentors . Embrace this moment and all you have learned from this . You now have the tools rewrite your story. Follow your heart and your dreams, not what others want of you or say you can or cannot be ! I am so proud to be up here as the director of the Carol Rivest Memorial Foundation who helps fund this powerful program. Our mission is to bring awareness of domestic violence, raise funds to provide education, and promote healthy and happy relationships. Educating and empowering women is one of our goals.Thank you to Asnuntuck Community College for recognizing the need and implementing this important program. Ladies live your best life! Be kind, strong and proud.
